Help Our Sharing Parishes This Lent! This year, we once again turn our hearts toward our brothers and sisters at our sharing parishes—Sts. Martha, Mary, and Lazarus Parish and St. Simon of Cyrene. To support families in need, we are collecting grocery store gift cards that will be distributed before Palm Sunday. Your generosity will help these families purchase what they need to enjoy a wonderful Easter dinner, easing the financial strain so many are feeling due to inflation. The most helpful gift cards are from Jewel, Aldi, Target, and Walmart. You may drop off your donation in the parish office mailbox or place it in the collection basket at Mass. Prefer to give electronically? Simply use the QR code to the right, and we’ll take care of purchasing the gift cards for you. Even better—buy your cards through the school’s SCRIP program, and an additional contribution goes right back to our school community!
Deadline: March 24! Give electronically, and we'll go pick up the cards: https://pushpay.com/g/northbrookcatholic?fnd=0lpytqFW4tjW7J_FSJjEHQ&fndv

Parish Mission: February 23 and 24
|
We are excited to welcome John Angotti back to St. Norbert and Our Lady of the Brook Parish. As a part of this year's Lenten Mission, he will be with us for all of our Masses on February 21 and 22, and our Lenten Mission will follow on the evenings of February 23 and 24. Each night will begin at 7 PM in the church. John is a "storyteller at the piano, a voice of hope for the Church, and a messenger of God's love through song" (source: johnangottimusicmission.com). The mission will feature two inspiring nights of prayer, reflection, and music to help deepen your Lenten journey. We hope you can join us!
We are happy to provide childcare from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM for families attending the Lenten Mission on Monday, Feb 23, and Tuesday, Feb. 24. Childcare will be offered in the Vineyard in the Church's lower level. Please complete this form to RSVP for childcare. |

Holy Week | Triduum
The summit of the Liturgical Year is the Easter Triduum—from the evening of Holy Thursday to the evening of Easter Sunday. Though chronologically three days, they are liturgically one day unfolding for us the unity of Christ's Paschal Mystery. The single celebration of the Triduum marks the end of the Lenten season and leads to the Mass of the Resurrection of the Lord at the Easter Vigil.

On this holy night, the Church keeps watch, celebrating the resurrection of Christ in the sacraments and awaiting his return in glory. It is the turning point of the Triduum, the Passover of the new covenant, which marks Christ's passage from death to life. Therefore, the Easter Vigil does not correspond to the usual Saturday evening Mass, and its character is unique in the cycle of the liturgical year.
